Unmet Need

From 2014-2024, SEED board members led education abroad programs to Africa so that US students could study food security, health, & nutrition in primary schools in Ethiopia & Zambia.

We provide to host communities:

  • dental exams

  • treatment

  • hygiene materials

  • preventive education

Once education abroad programs were no longer possible, SEED Oral Care was developed to ensure continuity, address unmet needs, & help K-12 students retain their permanent teeth through use of dental hygiene for prevention of decay.

The History of seed

Children suffer needlessly from:

  • (baby) teeth,

  • extra (supernumerary) teeth

  • gum disease

  • extensive decay

Provided services:

  • Extractions

  • dental cleanings

  • Fillings are provided

  • antibiotics

Some children need extensive cleaning to prevent tooth loss, while others have too much decay to save the tooth. As a last resort, extractions are performed.
